Move Over, Peanut Butter and Jelly
The scent of lavender is believed to promote relaxation and balance, and to inspire a sense of calm, making it a popular scent to spritz on pillows and bedding. And now, as if lavender wasn’t doing enough to promote well-being and peace on earth, someone has figured out a way to combine it with possibly the only other thing more soothing and soft. That’s right: bunny slippers.
Lavender-scented bunny slippers. Don’t you feel cozy just thinking about it? It’s the best pairing since PB&J. And not only that — the lavender-scented fuzzy bunny slippers from DreamEssentials.com are designed to be popped into the microwave so they’re nice and toasty, releasing even more of that sweet lavender smell. The world just became a more relaxing place. $24.95

It’s Itchy-Legs Season Again

Have you ever seen a dog really scratch his ears? You know, when he keeps scratching and scratching and digging in there, and he can’t seem to stop himself because it feels so good and that ear was so itchy? At this time of year, we can relate. Cooler weather means the itchy-dry-legs season is upon us. But while a dog can bliss out scratching to his heart’s content, we humans really shouldn’t.
Hello? Is that the sound of the heavens opening with a gift? Yes! Burt’s Bees Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey and Orange Wax Body Lotion lives up to its name: It’s thick and rich, and every ingredient is nourishing and healing — including rosemary, coconut, aloe and beeswax. It smells like honey straight from the hive, and not only does it cut itchy-legs season short, but it also makes skin look smoother and suppler, too. $9

The Snack Strikes Back
The week a box of healthy Peeled Snacks came in to Stuff We Love HQ, grown women were seen hiding little packets behind their backs and accusing each other (politely) of “unprofessional refusal to share.” We couldn’t help ourselves. This stuff is crazy delicious. Each snack contains big chunks of gourmet dried fruit, with fresh nuts in a separate pack, so the nuts don’t get gooey and the fruit stays moist. There’s no added sugar, tons of fiber and protein, and their flavor combos are fab, fab, fab — we love Shock-olate, with pears, apricots, almonds, walnuts and dark chocolate. These people are not stuffing their packages with fillers like peanuts and seeds. You get figs! Dates! Pistachios! Cashews! Thus, our normally peace-loving office became a scene of covetousness and hoarding. But if you truly love something, you should share it. Maybe. Sometimes. $13.99 for a case of 9 pack.

Remember to Thank the Academy
It’s not very often that the phrase “award-winning” can be associated with the stuff you eat every day. The greasy pizza slice you call dinner? Not award-winning. That salty soup you just had for lunch? Not award-winning, nope. But the delicious, crisp, not-too-sweet Apple Tea by Itoen you just washed it down with? First place winner in the Ready-to-Drink Bottled Teas category at the World Tea Expo 2006, thank you very much! We love the fresh tart taste, the fact that it’s brewed using whole black tea leaves (hello antioxidants), and the refreshingly pronounceable list of ingredients on the label. Itoen teas are $36 per case online and also available at natural grocery stores nationwide.

How Many Steps Have You Taken Today?
Health experts recommend that the average adult takes 10,000 steps per day to stay active and healthy. But let’s face it, most of us never reach that… unless the office snack machine is really far away. Or unless you’ve got a cool gadget like this one to motivate you: the Omron HJ-112 Digital Premium Pedometer. As pedometers go, this one is ridiculously easy to program and use, with a memory chip large enough to store a whole week’s worth of steps, calories and miles. Plus, it’ll remember all of your settings if the battery should happen to die before you remember to take those 1,345 steps to the nearest drugstore for a replacement battery. $109 at select retailers.
