Futuristic, shiny stuff has taken over the fashion world. There’s a weirdly Star Trek vibe going on in the style magazines and on the red carpet these days, which is why it’s something of a relief to see a gorgeous retro radio like the Tivoli Model One, available at TivoliAudio.com and online retailers. It looks like the radio your grandpa used to have on his desk. Even hard-dockin’ iPod loyalists have to love the old-school design, and thanks to the wooden panels, the sound is warm and rich and full. (And why did we start making audio systems out of high-tech fancy-schmancy plastics, exactly?)
